About KGen

KGen (kgen.cloud) is an independent, reader-supported publication about AI tools and software. We cover two areas in depth: AI agent builders and AI video tools. The site is independently owned and operated — it is not owned by, and does not act as an agency for, any vendor we write about.

Two kinds of pages, always labeled

• Reviews cover a single product in depth. A review states how it was produced, and carries a numeric score only when it reflects hands-on testing.
• Research guides — pricing explainers, comparisons, alternatives and roundups — are desk research. They are built from vendors' official pricing and documentation pages and from public user reviews, and they say so at the top. A research guide is not a hands-on test, and we don't write one as if it were.

How research guides are produced

• Primary sources first. Prices, plan limits and feature claims come from the vendor's own pricing, help-center and terms pages. Each guide lists the pages used and the date they were checked.
• Public user feedback second. For what a product is like to live with, we read reviews on platforms such as G2, Trustpilot, Capterra, Product Hunt and Reddit, and report the rating, the number of reviews behind it and the recurring themes.
• Gaps are stated. If a vendor doesn't publish a number, or sources disagree, the guide says so instead of guessing.
• Dates are real. "Updated" changes only when the facts on the page were re-checked.

How we make money

Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, the vendor pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Guides also cover products we have no commercial relationship with, and a product's place in a comparison doesn't depend on whether it pays. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

AI tools change prices and limits often. If something on KGen is out of date or wrong, email hello@kgen.cloud with the page and the source. We check it, fix the page and update its date.
